Due to the county's frugalness and lack of care for its people, the county has parted ways with the City of Tallahassee due to rising service fees for fire service. "We have three years to come up with alternative solutions to provide safe, reliable, and most importantly, affordable fire services for unincorporated Leon County," said Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban. But does the county really have its residents' best interests at heart? In an economy with constantly rising costs and fees, fire service is expected to go up, but it appears that the county cares more about saving 10 cents than paying higher fees for amazing firefighters. We see you, Leon County...
An anonymous person who lives outside the city limits told us, "It's not right. They decided this without asking us, and the city decided without asking the county. I want only a firefighter from Tallahassee to put out my fires." The man leaned in, trying hard not to panic. "I mean I guess I could use a bucket." Good luck to the residents who do not reside inside the city limits. The concerned citizen may be onto something... Luckily, we have a ton of lakes on the outskirts.
Sometimes, saving money is more important than reliable fire service.
