There is a saying that the common person is ignorant about the rights of others until it personally affects them. Now, this is not true about everyone, for people have been fighting for the rights of others since our species began to form civilizations–maybe even longer. While a person who grew up blind to the woes of others can learn to sound a trumpet to alarm their neighbors, the one who plucked out their own eyes to ignore a harsh reality will often leave their neighbors to rot.
Ignorance can be enlightened, but willful ignorance leads to tyrants.
Around the nation, and even the world, millions of people demonstrated their tribulations regarding the Trump administration. From rights being taken away to jobs being eliminated, and from tariffs to international relations, people from all over spoke out on April 5th.
And they spoke loudly.
Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, has had enough of the injustices taking place across this nation, and on April 5th, 2025, streets were lined near the old capitol building.
As people from different walks of life formed a union never thought imaginable, a togetherness of fear, of hope, and of dread was born. All anyone wants is to belong, to be accepted... to be heard. Once the veil of individualism falls, people are stripped of their masks, revealing the cold hard truth: We are all one.
As the United States held signs and shouted from the depths of their lungs, loud enough to make the Statue of Liberty weep, the world stood in unison...
This is just the beginning of a worldwide awakening against tyranny. I only hope the majority's ignorance is not willful, because even a blind bird can learn to see.
Join the resistance and speak up. Defend your neighbors. This is not the time for tolerance. No longer is this about the left vs the right of the past, this is about we the people vs tyranny.
