Anti-Israel Is Not Antisemitic

In a clear display of rivalry, two Jewish groups are going head-to-head in Florida, trying to outdo each other. On one side, you have the extremist pro-Israel organization, JewBelong, trying to lecture how everyone who is not pro-Israel is antisemitic. In 2018, its founder said Gaza is “full of monsters” and that it was “time to burn the whole place.” On the other side, you have antifascist Jews who are promoting the freedom of Palestine. Fixing the wordage on their billboards, the Jews for a Free Palestine seem to be cleaning up the fear-mongering billboards JewBelong has been putting up all year.


Isn’t it wrong to relocate an existing population from an area because of a religion? Don’t get me wrong, belief can be amazing. And a few of us at The Beekeeper have our own beliefs, but to claim it is more important than upholding the human rights of an existing group is wrong. We know deep down that belief is just that—belief. Plus, no single god would approve of these atrocities to other human beings. If they did, they would not be a god, now would they?


Zionists believe Israel is the holy land and reserved for only those of Jewish heritage and belief, due to religious, political, and historical factors. This can easily be debunked with logic and reason. People of the faith, all faiths, do not follow everything their sacred texts say. For example, in the Torah:

 

(Deuteronomy, 22:18 – 21)

18. If a man have a stub­born and rebel­lious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his moth­er, and that, when they have chas­tened him, will not hear­ken unto them:

19. Then shall his father and his moth­er lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

20. And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stub­born and rebel­lious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glut­ton, and a drunk­ard.

21. And all the men of his city shall stone with him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.


I don’t see everyone killing their sons with stones for being rebellious, do you?


Regarding the historical aspects, just because the land belonged to one’s ancestors does not give the current people the right to relocate an existing group that had no control of being born there. If so, we must do that to every country in this world that was conquered by another people.  


Regarding politics, well, see above. Politics is life. Therefore, religion and history make up one’s political views.


Don’t be antisemitic or a nationalist. It’s that simple.
